Problem

Climate change must be addressed

We are not arguing about whether climate change is due to anthropogenic or natural causes. It does not matter.

We must take action regardless.

Reduction of greenhouse gases is critical if we want our children to inherit the planet as it is now – as we have come to know and love it
02
Carbon Credit Markets

Compliance market

Company A, which has the permit to emit CO2, sells this allowance to Company B, which would have more incentive to buy the right from Company A than to pay a penalty/tax for exceeding emission limits to the government

Voluntary market
An independent project sells the positive effects of reducing CO2 emissions to the atmosphere to Company A, which is 'greening' by supporting climate and biodiversity projects
03

The role of Russia

Russia accounts for 20% of the world's forests, so no global climate solution can be truly effective without its involvement

Why Russia?
Forestry resources
Russia is home to 810 million hectares of forest
According to Greenpeace, in 2021, 18 million hectares of forest burned down in Russia, which need to be restored
Land resources

According to Greenpeace, Russia possesses 76 million hectares of unused agricultural land

The cost of renting agricultural land does not exceed 1,000 roubles per year
CBAM pressure
  • Start of monitoring from 2023 and introduction of fees from 2026
  • Industries subject to the levy – raw materials and basic materials
  • The annual levy to be paid by Russian businesses will be more than $5bn/year
04
Solution

Types of projects
Afforestation, Reforestation and Revegetation (ARR)

Carbon sequestration and local employment
Reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+)
Fire protection and preservation of the natural habitat of endangered species
ARR project for planting wind protection forest lines
